Article 16 UAW Constitution states;
You are considered to be a member in good standing for the first six months following you lay off. Each and every month of lay off following a letter must be sent to the (FST) Financial Secretary - Treasurer requesting to remain a member in good standing.
If a member fails to provide the required letter he or she will no longer be considered a member in good standing. Any members not considered to be in good standing will not be eligible to participate in ratification or election votes.
All laid off members may submit their request to remain in good standing via this form.
